May Playday @ The Kimball Art Museum
By Keith Friend

The May playday was a neat change of scenery. Guy Mayberry suggested using the lawn behind the Kimball Art museum in Fort Worth. It was a perfect field for Frisbee Dogs. The lawn is about 140 yards long by 60 yards wide. Manicured shrubs and huge shade trees border all sides of the lawn. The turf was green and well kept. Fountains and art sculptures bordered the Kimball back entrance.  We took refuge from the sun under some of the big trees near to the back entrance to the museum. At first it was just Guy and myself. Then came Mike Dobbs, Jason and Jennifer Kernodle, Ron Watson and Dana Culligan. We had to share the field with some Ultimate players but they didn't mind. Ron Watson even joined the Ultimate players and was pretty good.
We had a fun playday in the park even though we had a small group. Museum patrons came out to watch and visit. It made for a very nice time in Fort Worth.  At noon, just as we were packing up, James Jamison and his family

walked up to join us. We were already pretty pooped so James decided to throw a few Frisbees then meet us for lunch. Our whole group met afterward at Kincade's Grocery, know nation wide for their burgers. Kincade's even won Nations Best Burger a few years ago. The dining is "Family Style" with everyone sitting at big "picnic" style tables and standing at grocery counters. The place was packed but Jennifer managed to find a table for everyone. James and his family quickly joined us. We even watched a few clips of the regional on my snazzy new camcorder. Kincade's was a great ending to a perfect playday in Fort Worth.
We will be moving our playday around the Metroplex so if you know of a pretty park we can use, please contact Guy Mayberry and we will schedule it. They may be a bit out of the way like the Kimball but they are well worth it.
See you at Playday.
