As promised earlier this year, here is the first of what I hope will be at least two training articles this spring. Hopefully, we can get Bob to put into words what he has been putting on the field the last few years. That would be a short lesson regarding some of his training secrets surrounding his strategy and conditioning for mini-distance.
On to training the vault. This article will address basic vaulting concepts and the leg vault in particular. In a future article, I will address the back vault along with other more complex vaults.
We all know that many dogs can sit on command. If we were to get a group of their owners in a room to discuss how they taught their dogs to sit, we would probably walk away with as many different techniques as there were people in the room. The same thing would probably happen if you got a bunch of frisbee folks in a room to discuss how they taught their dog to vault. Everyone's techniques might be different, but at the same time everyone's technique was probably the right one for them and their dog. All that to say this. Use what I give
