Happy New Year! With 1998 now behind us and Y2K ahead of us, 1999 looks like it should be another wonderful year for the Dallas Dog and Disc Club. Although I'll be the first to say the highs of last year will be hard to duplicate, I'm confident each member of the club is up to the task.
I hope you all have a copy of the 1999 Dallas Dog & Disc Calendar of Events. This spring we are going to try to help everyone, who is interested, to better prepare for this year's upcoming events, particularly the ALPO South-Central Regional to be held on May 1st in Houston. There is always a build-up of energy leading to our regional event, because as you are all aware this is one of only two chances, and the only local opportunity, to qualify for the ALPO World Finals. Obviously qualifying for the World Finals pales in comparison to the magical bond that develops with our dogs through frisbee play. But, at the same time the recognition and the trip to Washington are nice rewards for the hours of hard work. Albeit fun and vastly rewarding, at times hard work nonetheless.
In terms of preparation, you should see a couple of new training articles this spring, along with a mini-distance clinic, a fun match and the Coppell
