Is it just me or does it feel like we went for weeks without seeing the sun? Finally, the last couple of weeks have offered some indications that warmer, and hopefully drier, weather is just around the corner. It seems that every winter I go through the same cycle - around November, as the days grow shorter, the urge to go to the park to play frisbee starts to slowly fade. By January I've usually come to the conclusion that I probably don't have the same desire or time to devote to frisbee as in years past. In February, spring starts to make a few honest attempts at arrival and a DDD newsletter will arrive with talk of playdays, funmatches, and competitions. Then after a few halfhearted trips to the park I start to realize what's kept me so involved in this sport for so long. The joy and excitement my dogs experience while playing frisbee is unequaled by anything else they do.

Finally, I arrive at a warm and sunny playday only to find that my dog's excitement often pales when compared to the excitement I hear in the voices and see on the faces of many of our members.  So, if you see me look at you and quietly chuckle you will know what I'm thinking.  Thank goodness it's only the dogs that drool and bark when excited!

See you at playday!
